The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation

PROFILE

Current residence: Beirut, Lebanon

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

SJSU offered the perfect degree - an MLIS that let me combine courses in Information Instruction and Emerging Technologies.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My husband, my professors, and my fellow classmates.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the US, Canada, and even a few people, who were living and working internationally.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I liked the fact that I could be pursuing my degree anywhere I had an internet connection and at any time of the day or night.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

There are many things I enjoyed. My top three would be the incredible knowledge of my professors, the wide range of courses offered, and the flexibility of the program.

I plan to use my degree to:

Develop innovative ways to teach information literacy skills, encourage students to read, promote library programs and services, and make community connections.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Continuing to put into practice all the things I have leanred. Looking at what other cool courses SJSU offers that I did not get time to take. Getting back to reading an incredible stack of books that has piled up on my bedside table; and spending time hiking and kayaking this summer without due dates looming.
