2015 Ken Haycock Award Recipient
Darren Ilett is currently working at the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Library in technology instruction, reference, circulation, and programming. During the spring 2015 semester, he also served as a research assistant for the Master of Archives and Records Administration program at the San José State University School of Information and interned at ProQuest. Ilett comes to the library and information science (LIS) field as a second career and previously worked as an assistant professor of German Studies at Michigan State University. He is particularly interested in information services and technology and is torn between public librarianship (with its democratic emphasis on service to everyone in the community) and academic librarianship (with its emphasis on research and instruction). No matter which work environment he lands in, he is dedicated to improving lives through service.
