The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2018

PROFILE

Current residence: San Jose, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to pursue a career as a librarian/information specialist. After a successful career in non-profit agency management, I wanted to apply my experience and new learning to help others access the information they need to be successful.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my family and friends who cheered my every step and accomplishment. Several iSchool instructors and librarian mentors who provided me with advice and opportunities to learn more about the profession.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

all over the world! I I had the opportunity to work virtually with students from India, Canada and the east coast of the United States. I got to meet several of my classmates in person at the Special Libraries Association National Conference and at local Special Libraries Association events.

What I liked best about online learning was:

that it was flexible, yet rigorous.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

working with other students and instructors on assignments and projects. I also enjoyed participating in student professional organizations.

I plan to use my degree to:

assist individuals in accessing the information they need to achieve their goals.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

doing more recreational reading and finding my first job as a librarian.
