I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

Since the age of 14, I have worked in library sciences and my passion has not disappeared. My family's library experience also inspired me to pursue a career helping to educate and improve my community.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My mother, father and sister were instrumental to my degree completion. My entire family had my back, my coworkers were incredibly supportive, and my closest friend, Toney, was always in my corner.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

So many sections of the nation that I feel more well-rounded because of it. If I'm ever on the West Coast again, I will definitely try to find those I still keep in touch with.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The confidence in knowing my daily life would always balance itself. While I was very preoccupied with my studies, I earned two different full-time positions and even moved. Despite these schedule and location changes, I could still maintain the motivation and focus needed to get to the finish line.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

The passion of everyone involved. From classmates to faculty, it seemed everyone was genuinely dedicated to the field in some way, whether learning or teaching. I was thankful to be surrounded with such constant support and optimism.

I plan to use my degree to:

Further my career goals of exploring the field, but I intend on becoming a public librarian and, eventually, a branch manager. Ultimately, I hope to improve my community through my service, and my degree was a major step toward achieving that at the highest level.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

The free time I get back! I am ecstatic to further my career, but I will use my newfound time to focus on my hobbies, such as creative writing, and dedicate myself more to my passions.
