The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2018

PROFILE

Current residence: Salem, OR, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to further my career and pursue my goals of being a Librarian and Library Manager

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My coworkers and friends. I had many friends that let me talk through research ideas and edited my work.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All around the world. One of the greatest experiences was having classmates all around the US and even some from Europe.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility it provided which allowed me to work full time while pursuing my degree.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

The support I received from my professors. I never once felt that I couldn't get a question answered or clarification on an assignment. SJSU has a great faculty that balance real world experience with information science research and theory.

I plan to use my degree to:

Pursue a career as an Adult Services Librarian and I hope one day to manage a library or library system.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Sleep and catching up on all the books and movies I missed over the last few years while working and going to school
