Virtual Convocation

PROFILE

Current residence: Fresno, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I want to give back to my communities. I want to help shape the libraries where I work into places where people can come together and get the help and information that they need.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My wife. She kept me going through the long hours of full time work and full time school.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Los Angeles, Australia, and Canada.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility. It allowed me to go to school while still being a full time employee and having a family. I loved being able to have lots of time with my children, and then do my school work after they were asleep.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Learning about new technologies, the new directions that libraries are going in, and making connections with other like minded people.

I plan to use my degree to:

Become a library supervisor and help build community connections.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Learning the ropes of being a new librarian. And having a little more free time to spend with my family.
