PROFILE

Current residence: Glendale, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I am changing careers from the education field as an elementary school teacher to the information profession.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my family and friends. Education has always been important to my family, so this was a natural next step for my career.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

literally all around the world. It was amazing to be able to communicate with fellow students locally, nationally, and internationally.

What I liked best about online learning was:

that I was able to complete my work based on my own schedule.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

gaining information from my professors. They are in a variety of different fields within the library and information profession, such as academic librarians, archivists, Digital Asset Management strategist, and a dark archives director.

I plan to use my degree to:

work in some capacity in an Archives, but I am also open to the library or technological fields. My MLIS courses have opened up many doors that I look forward to entering.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

gaining more hands-on experience and working with analog and digital records.
