The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2018

PROFILE

Current residence: Roseville, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to expand my horizons and there were so many MLIS topics that interested me. I have always admired the mission of libraries and the way in which librarians conduct themselves, and knew I would be proud to be associated with this community.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My virtual husband, Ricardo Anguiano; classmate Melissa Siebert; instructor Debbie Faires; and the librarian at my local library, Lesli Goto.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the world, including one who was living in Russia.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The scheduling flexibility.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Being involved in a special project class to provide Collaborate assistance. There were fewer than ten students in the class and our instructor found creative and fun ways for us to engage with her and with one another, which I found very enriching.

I plan to use my degree to:

Connect people with information in ways that will enhance their lives.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Not having to create APA-formatted references and citations :-)
