The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2018

PROFILE

Current residence: Nampa, ID, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

it would give me more opportunities to advance and expand my expertise in the public library realm.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my husband, who was patient and understanding when I had to work on school instead of spending time with family. My parents were also a huge support and encouraged me to never give up no matter how hard things became.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Mostly California, but I've met classmates from Germany, New York, Oregon, and other places.

What I liked best about online learning was:

it worked really well with my work schedule. I could complete assignments and watch lectures on my own time, so it didn't interfere with work or my son's extracurricular activities.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Learning about the many different facts of librarianship and organizations that employ information professionals. My eyes were opened to the depth of work that librarians engage in, and the opportunities for information professionals outside of libraries.

I plan to use my degree to:

pursue a position in public services management or technical services at a public library.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Spending more time with my family!
