Virtual Convocation
2018

PROFILE

Current residence: Oceanside, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I believe in continued education and furthering your knowledge. It took me a while to get my B.A. and even longer for me to decide on going back for my masters, but it was always something I knew I wanted to do. It's also pretty cool just to say that you're a master in something!

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

Family and friends - always! Especially my daughter who was in the womb at the start and on my lap watching me write all my papers in the end.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the US! Also had an instructor from Australia which was really cool.

What I liked best about online learning was:

Moving at my own pace, learning more about technology, and being able to work pretty much anywhere, anytime. Working in pj's with a glass of wine was also a nice perk.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

All of the instructors. Every single one of them was so helpful and provided so much support throughout this whole process. Also getting to know a lot of my peers.

I plan to use my degree to:

I first was only focused on working in an academic library, then was open to working public libraries. Now I'm really excited to explore specialty libraries especially since I'll be touring the Disney Animation Research Library - that would be a dream job!

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Getting back into the workforce and giving back to my community!
