PROFILE
Current residence: La Grande, OR, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I decided that it was time to take a step forward, in terms of my professional development. I'd plateaued in recent years, stagnating due to a combination of circumstances in the workplace and a lack of necessary education. This degree program seemed the best way to remedy that situation, either through opening of new professional opportunities, or through a new level of knowledge and abilities in my existing employment.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My family, particularly my wife, parents, and as my sister, who all worked tirelessly to assist me in keeping my daughter out of my hair from ages two to four when I had homework!
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All walks of life, across the United States, and even students from a wide variety of international locations!
What I liked best about online learning was:
This program offered me the ability to "work from home", which was critical due to my full-time employment and full-time co-parent status!
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
Being able to have a better work/life/study balance, and the opportunity to "meet" so many different people from the comfort of my own residence.
I plan to use my degree to:
Support the values of library and information science in my library and community.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Sleeping! But in all seriousness, I'm hoping I can find a way to support and advance the mission of the library and information organizations that I currently work for, or work for in the future.
