The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2018

PROFILE

Current residence: Los Angeles, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I started working as a high school librarian (after 8 years of teaching English) and loved it right away. I quickly realized I wanted to know more so that I could be the best librarian possible for my school and my students.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My grandparents, my parents, and my husband. Thank you!

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Near and far!

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility in scheduling my work, learning new technologies, and being able to watch lectures on my couch.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

The professors I had who are passionate experts in their field, whose enthusiasm was contagious. Also, being plugged in to a world built on the shared love of all things library.

I plan to use my degree to:

Teach high school students how to navigate through all the available information to find what is most useful, reliable, and true.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Reading books of my own choosing, purely for fun!
