PROFILE

Current residence: West Jordan, UT, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I felt strongly that I needed to further my education and wanted to continue what I started as an undergraduate. I really enjoy history and archives and wanted to feel qualified to do what I love to do.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My wife, first and foremost, was my greatest support, and my children put up with the fact that dad was doing school every day. I also appreciated the encouragement and support of my friends and professors.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Places I did not expect. Primarily the United States but several from islands and countries across the world.

What I liked best about online learning was:

Working at my own pace and feeling like I was in control of what I was learning. Being able to have access to the wealth of knowledge provided by the iSchool from my bedroom desk was a treat and pleasure.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

All the new skills I learned. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed learning programming skills and while I enjoyed the preservation work and understanding that I gained, I really appreciated the variety of the knowledge gleaned from my participation in the program.

I plan to use my degree to:

Advance in the Archive world. I hope to manage an university archive one day.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Spending time with family and working on advancing my career.
