Sam Applebaum: Congrats Friend!!! So Proud of you and everything you accomplished!

Grandma and Cat: Congratulations Ashlee! We are so proud of you! xo

Mattie Gibbons: If you had told me freshman year you’d be here I would have probably screamed (but only because I couldn’t even imagine graduating undergrad at that point). Love you so much and I’m so proud of you!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Jamie: Congrats Ash! It’s crazy how we joined the MLIS program at the same time without knowing it, and even took the same classes without knowing for a while! I’m so happy you reached out to me that one time. It’s been awesome reconnecting with you and taking classes with you. I can’t wait to see where you go after this. You’ve worked so hard, and you’re going to do amazing! I’m so proud of you!

Daniel Yoshimoto: Parabéns, Ashlee. May God bless your path... better, may your path be His.

The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2023

PROFILE

Current residence: Los Angeles, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to have a graduate degree that focused on library science so that I could be better qualified for a full time librarian/archivist position.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My family, friends, coworkers, pets, peers, and professors.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All around the world but mostly from around the US, including reconnecting with friends from college and high school.

What I liked best about online learning was:

Being able to go at my own pace for my classwork and watching the lectures yet also staying fairly connected with all of my classmates and professors.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Making friends and connections of my peers and learning more about the in's and out's of being a librarian and the many aspects of the career.

I plan to use my degree to:

Find and work in a full time position either as a librarian or archivist within public, school, or academic libraries.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Beginning my journey toward becoming a full time librarian or archivist and sharing and applying my knowledge I gained from my Master's program.
