PROFILE

Current residence: Turlock, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I entered this program wanting to earn my degree because archives are the foundation of information and knowledge. I knew as a History Major that I would need further education to be successful career wise, and archives are how I finished my undergraduate thesis.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My dad, My best friend Rachel, My sister Angela, My professors and My Mom.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the United States and had a few Canadian classmates.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I could work at my own pace within deadlines set for assignments and papers. The ability to be flexible and learn in my own way was also useful.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

The number of professors who worked in professional settings within my degree field, beyond only teaching. While I appreciate teachers who fully devoted themselves to teaching, being able to learn from professionals within archives and records management was beneficial to learning about my future career prospects.

I plan to use my degree to:

Continue working within the archives and records management field. I do like working within the archives of small local government, but working within any archive would be fantastic.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Continuing my work in my field, but also being able to start devoting more time to my hobbies and continual learning new things.
