I wanted to demonstrate to my children the beauty and importance of lifelong learning.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My partner, children, parents, brothers, cousins, friends, and co-workers. I cannot get over the size of my cheering section! I am so fortunate to be surrounded by fine humans who have encouraged me every step of the way.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All over the United States! I am from California, and I was lucky enough to meet professors and classmates from Texas to Virginia and everywhere in between.
What I liked best about online learning was:
The flexibility. I work fulltime, have a husband, three children, and a dog so being able to focus on my education during times that best suited my needs was invaluable.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
The incredible people that I have had the pleasure of working with has been what I have enjoyed most about my time in the program. I had a group member get married during our semester and she shared her wedding pictures with us. One group member who trusted me enough to reach out to me when they were experiencing personal hardship. One who listened to my advice and began volunteering at their local library. In each group assignment that I was a part of we laughed, cried, and rooted for each other. There has been nothing like the feeling of the shared succuss that we got to experience together.
I plan to use my degree to:
become a children's librarian and rock the heck out of some storytimes!
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
The next step in this journey! I cannot wait to continue learning from others. I plan to enjoy each stage of the process until I reach my goal. And then I plan to set a new one and keep going!
