PROFILE

Current residence: Plainfield, CT, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

my love for books! I loved the librarian at my public library where I grew up. I had always chosen more books than I was allowed to check out and she would always hold them for me the next time I came in. She made summer reading fun and always helped me reach my goals. I knew I what I wanted to do when I grew up but never thought I would get there. I want to share my love of reading, recommendations, and give the same experience that I had whenever I visited the library to the patrons I will serve.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My husband, mom, dad, brother, my entire extended family, and friends.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

all over the United States and different countries!

What I liked best about online learning was:

learn at your own pace in a timely manner. I took one class a semester and worked my way through to the end!

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

having instructors that supported me and learning about classmates that shared similar ideas to mine as well as reading and listening to their own views and experiences.

I plan to use my degree to:

help patrons of all ages find what they are looking for. I had a positive experience in all the library settings I have encountered and hope that what I have learned during my time in the program can help me give the patrons I will encounter that same upbeat positive experience.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

pursing my career in public librarianship. My ultimate goal and dream job is to become the librarian at my former alma mater at Eastern Connecticut State University.
