I started my career in tech information management. I was interested in becoming a taxonomist but wanted to learn the theoretical background used in many of the roles.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My husband, Mike, daughter Addison, and son, Niall.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
across the United States! Especially in the peer mentor program, we met students from Hawaii, Alaska, Boston, and more!
What I liked best about online learning was:
the flexibility and ease of access. I appreciated being able to learn asynchronously and still connect and form relationships with my peers.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
finding a home in both a career I wanted to pursue and a wonderful community of emerging library leaders. It was inspiring to meet everyone and hear their journey as they planned their MLIS career.
I plan to use my degree to:
continue to work in taxonomy or as a jumping point to information analytics, project management, and more!
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
taking back the time to dedicate to my hobbies! I've started knitting and crocheting, and I am planning runs to get back into half marathons.
