PROFILE

Current residence: Monrovia, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to create more opportunities for myself and work in a field where I can make a positive impact in my community and people's lives through access to information and resources

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My partner, my close friends, and my professors who believed in me and reminded me of my purpose when things got tough.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility to learn at my own pace and rewatch lectures when I needed to, especially since it helped with my focus and processing.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Connecting assignments to real-world issues, like serving underserved communities, and seeing how librarianship can be a tool for social change.

I plan to use my degree to:

Support reentry and underserved populations through equitable access to information, and eventually help transform public library services. I also want to incorporate my background in automotive by creating fun, interactive, and informative programs or resources that serve my community in creative and practical ways

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Starting my career in libraries and continuing to grow, learn, and advocate for communities that are often overlooked.
