PROFILE

Current residence: Kaunakakai, HI, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

the opportunity showed itself to pursue this pathway for preservation of our Molokai history and culture

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

Sheila Gurtu, Cindy Hohl, Jonna Paden, the Bridging Knowledge Mentoring Program, Molokai Library Services Cadre, Ka Ipu Makani Cultural Heritage Center, and individuals already involved in the library, archive, and museum field in Hawaii.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Hawaii, the U.S., and Japan!

What I liked best about online learning was:

having the opportunity to work remotely from home here on Molokai.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

All of the knowledge gained and working with individuals who came from different backgrounds.

I plan to use my degree to:

Pursue archiving on the island of Molokai, a place with no established archive.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Taking the next step in becoming an archivist and continuing preservation work for our community.
