PROFILE

Current residence: Moreno Valley, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to earn a master's degree because of my deep love for libraries and the role they play in fostering learning and community engagement. Growing up, I always felt a sense of wonder and belonging in libraries, where knowledge and resources were accessible to everyone. This passion has inspired me to pursue advanced studies in library science, so I can help create spaces that support education, provide valuable resources, and bring people together. I want to contribute something meaningful to my community by ensuring that libraries continue to evolve as essential hubs of information, culture, and connection.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My husband, family, and friends. Also, my dog Shaggy was always there to snuggle when I needed it.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the United States. I made some amazing friends in this program.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I loved the flexibility it provided me. I could work at my own pace and still attend school despite working full-time.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

I loved everything about the program. I had amazing professors who were very understanding and were always there when I had a question or concern. I also enjoyed meeting other students who had the same passion for libraries as me. I made some lifelong connections in this program and some great friends.

I plan to use my degree to:

Continue my career as a librarian. I love libraries and everything they stand for. With my degree, I hope to be able to have more opportunities and continue to grow in this field.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Having more time to spend with family and friends, read, photography, and travel.
