The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation

PROFILE

Current residence: West Covina, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I’d like to advance my proficiency in knowledge management and support my career growth taking on leadership roles

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my partner and circle of friends ~

While in the program, I met classmates from:

…courses from the MLIS program, student groups including SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter, and social events through in-person meet-ups

What I liked best about online learning was:

the flexibility of completing my degree program remotely and at my own pace, and the opportunity to use new technology and experiment with features I wasn’t as familiar with such as Canvas, Rapid Miner, Tableau, and collaborating with members/teams using Canva, Zoom, and Google products (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, etc.)

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Learning the information and skills applicable to librarianship and information science, the types of positions associated with the organizational setting, and virtually meeting people from different parts of the world with interesting educational and professional backgrounds

I plan to use my degree to:

Secure better employment opportunities

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Earning a higher income while working in one of the fields associated with library and information science
