I want the ability to someday work in a university setting, and earning a master's degree also allowed me to increase my annual salary in my current school district.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My husband, Joe, and our fuzzy creatures - Remi, Higgins, and Ozzy! <br />
Many thanks to my mom, Wendy, for moral support and many pep talk phone calls.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All over the world! Most were from California, but I also had group mates as far away as China!
What I liked best about online learning was:
The flexibility to complete asynchronous work anytime, anywhere. I am also grateful that most professors understood that the majority of us were working professionals!
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
The ability to immediately apply what we were learning to a "real world" work context.
I plan to use my degree to:
For the time being, I will continue to serve as a K-12 district librarian! Someday, I dream of becoming a social sciences librarian, helping students and faculty conduct research in an academic setting!
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
The freedom and time to play, both personally and professionally! Finishing the MLIS program will free up my time to try new things and implement new library programming - and enjoy more of my personal time as well (including getting back to reading for fun!).
