The career I want requires it. I chose that career because I have always been an avid reader and wanted to find a way to combine that passion with a career. A librarian seemed like the best way to do that.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My parents. I know with 100% certainty that I would not have been able to finish the program without their support. They pushed me when I needed it and cheered from the sidelines when I didn't. I am so grateful to always have them in my corner.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All over the world. I thought most people in the program were in California like me, but I met people from not just other states, but other countries and continents.
What I liked best about online learning was:
The flexibility. I worked full time all the way through the program so the flexibility of online learning made it so that I could complete my classes on my own time while working during the day.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
The opportunity to learn more about the different ways I can use my degree. I started this program thinking that there was a very limited way to work in a library, but through this program I learned about how many different ways there actually are. Now at the end, I have changed what I thought I wanted to do because I was given the opportunity to take classes and learn about the options I didn't know existed.
I plan to use my degree to:
Further my career with my current job. I may not be working in a library setting currently, but having this degree with give me more of an opportunity to do so in the future.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Having the freedom to pursue the career that I want. I am happy where I am now, but having completed the program gives me more opportunity for growth than I had before. I have seen many great opportunities come and go because I didn't have the right education. I can do so much more now and I am excited to see what the future holds for me.
