I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I wanted to earn my MLIS so that I could provide improved services in my role as a youth services programming specialist. Obtaining my MLIS has provided many other professional opportunities, as well. Including the chance to write professionally, to lead workshops, and to teach an undergraduate level course,
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My family has patiently supported me every step of the way. They have understood when I had to take homework on vacations and missed events, and have encouraged me when I needed it most. Their support has meant the world to me. I love you, Andrew, Thomas. and Tyler.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
I met classmates from all over the world and from within my own state, while in the program.
What I liked best about online learning was:
I enjoyed the flexibility of learning online and the opportunity to meet people from a variety of places and with diverse backgrounds. Learning online enabled me the opportunity to work within the confines of my work and personal schedule.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
I enjoyed having knowledgeable professors and instructors with a variety of professional experiences. I had numerous instructors who inspired and encouraged me.
I plan to use my degree to:
I plan to continue in my role as Youth Services Specialist. I have also had the opportunity to write a book which is being published by ALA. I plan to write more books in the future, as an advocate for public library services for children and families. I will also be teaching an undergraduate course for Northern Kentucky University in the fall.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
I am looking forward to having more time to spend with my family! I am also looking forward to teaching and writing more.
