The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2017

PROFILE

Current residence: Ashland, MT, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to learn. I wanted to be immersed in new technologies and network with people working in the fields of digital asset management, digital preservation, emerging technologies, and archiving.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

Dustin, my husband, and my global village of family and friends.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

everywhere! I loved being able to interact with other professionals from various walks of life and backgrounds. It showed me how diverse information science is.

What I liked best about online learning was:

the ability to earn a degree from my own home. As a working mom it would have been very difficult to attend a physical school and this program gave me access to extensive course choice and a fantastic group of professors.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

improving upon and learning diverse skills. The opportunity to network with other professionals has provided endless opportunities for learning and engagement.

I plan to use my degree to:

apply the concepts and practice of information science to my work with the National Park Service and in various volunteer positions. I plan on developing a small consulting business focused on personal archiving, digital asset management, and digital preservation.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

reading for fun, attending local events, backpacking, traveling, and enjoying time with my family and friends.
