The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2017

PROFILE

Current residence: Roberts Creek, Canada

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

After many years as a library paraprofessional, I knew I could bring more to information services with a masters degree behind me.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My husband Doug and my children, Joey and Kelsey.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

all over the world! Many were from California, but I met people from England, France, India, and even some from my home province in Canada.

What I liked best about online learning was:

Online learning was a perfect fit for me, as I work full time and am a motivated and self-directed learner. Asynchronous lessons and the online learning platform allowed me to be strategic in planning assignments and emerging technologies facilitated collaborations with fellow students.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

My best experience at SJSU iSchool was meeting the professors and students. I was impressed with the caliber of professionalism and sense of inquiry. Group work and collaboration was exemplary. Also, copy-editing for SRJ and my Membership Director position with the ASIS&T Student Chapter were both great experiences!

I plan to use my degree to:

provide information services using proven experience and fabulous new skills.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

having some leisure activities re-introduced into my life!
