It became the connecting bridge I was looking for to combine both my love of libraries and art museums.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My mom who supported my continuing education and through my struggles gave me strength to keep pushing forward. My boyfriend, Benjamin, who with sweet encouraging words helped me through my stress. Also my friends, Michelle, Sabrina, Joy, and many others who helped me get to the finish line.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
the bay area (where I currently live), Fresno (where I grew up), and San Diego! I even got to meet my classmate who's from San Diego when she came up to San Francisco.
What I liked best about online learning was:
the community aspect. It strengthened out online presence, communication, and virtual professionalism. I also appreciate that I could still work full-time and do the program.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
The curriculum was well organized, the professors were truly interested in what they were teaching, and I enjoyed the class electives.
I plan to use my degree to:
work my way into an art museum library where I can nurture and build my cataloging and archiving skills.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
what the future brings. I am excited, and nervous, to start my career in cataloging. I look forward to once again bring art back into my life.
