Virtual Convocation
2017

PROFILE

Current residence: Eugene, OR, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I love libraries, and am hoping for a career working for one.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My parents Pam and Howard Malcolm; The Mani Family, my inspiring hosts in Sweden: classmates Karen Liu, Shameem Maideen, and Sarah Laws; and my partner, Barry Peiskee.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

China, Singapore, and all over the USA!

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility it gave me. I was able to live and work in South Korea and Sweden while completing my degree. I worked on papers and coursework while traveling in Japan, Netherlands, Denmark, Iceland, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, and Poland. Online classrooms gave me the freedom to pursue my Bohemian dreams!

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

My favorite thing from SJSU iSchool was learning that I absolutely had made the right decision to pursue my masters. I loved my coursework and the skills I gained. I even loved completing my ePortfolio. It gave me such a sense of accomplishment, and I also feel like I have discovered a passion I can put towards a career.

I plan to use my degree to:

I am currently searching for a position to help launch my career. I hope to find myself working in a library, preferably with children or young adults, very soon.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

I am most looking forward to reading for pleasure, and homeworkless evenings :)
