I was inspired by my family and other librarians to become a librarian since I was young. It has been a goal of mine since the 4th grade when I fully decided that is what I wanted to do.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My mother specifically, my family and my family's close friends. Everyone saw me struggle and overcome those struggles to graduate.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All over the world and North America. I even met another person from Oklahoma and someone who was also hard of hearing!
What I liked best about online learning was:
Being able to control when I went onto the course site and the assignments since I had work and sometimes medical emergencies. I could not always attend classes physically in other programs I tried to accomplish. Online gives you a freedom that and organization that physically attending classes do not give as well.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
I enjoyed learning new tools that I could use outside of my classes and skills that would become useful for future jobs.
I plan to use my degree to:
Get a job to support me financially in life and to hopefully inspire others that librarians do much more than care for books. They care for people too.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Getting a job and eventually owning my own house by working hard in that job. It has always been another dream of mine to own my own home. I feel that this year it will come true. I never thought I would get to this point through all the struggles I endured. It has been a long seven-year journey starting with undergrad and had many bumpy roads afterward. I am so proud to have gotten here. Thank you SJSU iSchool for allowing me to achive my dream!
