PROFILE

Current residence: Albuquerque, NM, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I have worked in a library for 13 years and I enjoy library work. I want to advance my career in librarianship!

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My family for sure and all their love! They believed in me, I love you Pops, Mom, Josh and Cher! My wife Veronica really supported me and encouraged me throughout my journey! I could not have done it without her. My kids (Xochitl, Xitlali & Eviee) were my motivation and I wanted to provide a good example for them. My supervisors, the staff and librarians at the UNM Law Library. This group of individuals believed in me from day one and they let me bug them with schoolwork. They gave me some great perspective and they pushed me to be a librarian. Thank you I truly love each and every one of you!!

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All of over the Country! I also met a few students from Albuquerque, NM!

What I liked best about online learning was:

I could go at my own pace. I now prefer online courses!

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

I really enjoyed being a Peer Mentor and a member of the Web Conferencing Project. These programs were a good chance of pace for me in my last semesters. Debbie Faires is awesome and I enjoyed working with her!!

I plan to use my degree to:

Continue my career in Academic Librarianship! I enjoy working with students and I wouldn't mine being a Teacher-Librarian one day!

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Spending more time with my family. The last few semesters have been busy and I feel like I lived in my office more than home. I can now focus on my family life!
