PROFILE
Current residence: East San Francisco Bay, CA, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I wanted to transition from being an insurance broker to an information broker. After completing my program, I have come to believe deeply in the mission and ethics of librarianship, and its duty to democracy.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My family and friends. Their loving support and encouragement helped me get through some trying times, and celebrated the success along the way. Also, iSchool staff Vicki Robison, Shelia Gurtu and Career center Jill Klees, and instructors were incredibly helpful, supportive and responsive. The iSchool student success planner was a very important tool for my e-portfolio. Thank you one and all !
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All over the world and all over the USA! Italy, Qatar, Alaska, Oregon, Montana, and those are just the ones I remember! It was great to share and learn with such a diverse group of people. I learned so much from the discussions, so much experience shared and insight gained.
What I liked best about online learning was:
The flexibility in scheduling my class time. As long as I kept to a routine, and put in a good 6-8 hours every day, it ran smooth. Not commuting was the best!
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
Well, I am a technology nerd, so I really enjoyed Alyce Scott’s Tools, Services and Methodologies for Digital Curation my last instructional semester Fall 2016. The web archiving project was a great experience! <br />

I plan to use my degree to:
Assist users to organize, access, curate and preserve data and information, weather in a library, archive, museum, or business setting.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
A hike at Point Reyes, Tomales Point Trail! And then a visit with mom in Southern California. I have not seen her for a year and half (busy with school projects, Christmas was cancelled). She requested a trip to Cantors deli in the Fairfax district!
