The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2017

PROFILE

Current residence: San Francisco Bay Area, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

To make use of my past experience in software, and to explore information technology, especially with regards to equitable access.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My spouse, friends, classmates, and instructors were my greatest cheerleaders.

What I liked best about online learning was:

Conversing with classmates and instructors using various tools and media. And becoming good friends with some of them.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

I gleaned so much from my favorite courses, yet also realized that each only touched the tip of the iceberg re: the topics, issues, tools, and services covered. And I find that exciting, that LIS is the ultimate in infinite learning and application.

I plan to use my degree to:

To improve access to information, and encourage information literacy, among everyone — especially underserved persons. Whether tools or services, library user experience (UX) needs advocacy, researching, and doing.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

To catch up on my ever-growing media lists (books, games, music, tv, film, etc.). And maybe do some travel.
