The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2017

PROFILE

Current residence: Hinton, Canada

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I am committed to working in public libraries and I felt that having a MLIS was an important component of that commitment.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my daughters, Annamarie and Julia, and my mother, Louise.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

around the world, which was very exciting and interesting. I really enjoyed the diversity that my classmates brought to every assignment, discussion, and interaction.

What I liked best about online learning was:

the ability to attend classes while working full-time in anther country. The online learning experience allowed me to interact with excellent professors and peers without having to physically be in the same place as they were.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

the flexibility to work on the MLIS at my own pace and the wide range of classes that were available.

I plan to use my degree to:

work as a public library administrator.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

reading novels.
