The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2019

PROFILE

Current residence: Glendale, AZ, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I am passionate about the library and helping others.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My boyfriend, my family, and my coworkers.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the United States and Canada.

What I liked best about online learning was:

Asynchronous learning. Completing my MLIS online meant I could continue working at the library and in theatre to support myself through school. I was able read and complete assignments for classes on-the-go, so I could study anywhere, any time.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Being able to connect with instructors that were insightful and challenged us to do our best, and working remotely with a variety of students on group projects. I enjoyed learning from my instructors and classmates because it allowed me to interact with different perspectives about library and information science.

I plan to use my degree to:

Combine my love for the arts with information literacy. My current plans are to continue serving my bilingual community through an abundance of programs, services, and outreach initiatives.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Catching up on sleep and applying what I have learned at SJSU to my current job. I would eventually like to earn a post-graduate certificate in Digital Asset Management.
