PROFILE
Current residence: Santa Barbara, CA, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
of how flexible the degree is and the ability to work in different environments. I also have a passion for rare documents, archives, and history. I also wanted to combine my music degree with my MLIS degree so I could one day work in a music library.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My parents who provided me with this incredible experience and would encourage me every day to keep pushing forward. My boyfriend Sean who gave me continuous support, helped me stay positive, and made me dinner when I was busy working on my portfolio. You are amazing, and I'm so grateful for all you did for me during my program! And lastly to my incredible friends, who cheered me on to the end. Julie, Katreina, Emily, Katie, Sean M, Francis, Kelsey, I love you guys so much!
While in the program, I met classmates from:
all over! It was really fun to see where my classmates were from. I met a lot who were located in my hometown as well as the city where my college was located.
What I liked best about online learning was:
The ability to complete my classes, readings, and assignments at my own pace. Most of my classes had units that lasted a week until moving onto the next. This was incredibly wonderful because I was able to spread out my readings and make sure I was absorbing all the information as well as being able to focus in depth on certain topics that I needed more work on.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
all the fun classes I took! There was such a huge variety and I loved learning about the different aspects of libraries.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
getting a job in a music library, working with rare books, or maybe even getting a librarian job with Marvel one day :)
Dad!: Congratulations! So very proud of you!
