The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2019

PROFILE

Current residence: Los Angeles, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I want to do good in my community as a youth services librarian at a public library.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

mi familia. Thanks to their sacrifices, I had the privilege to do this!

I plan to use my degree to:

fight social inequities. I want to make libraries more inclusive to all. I want every child – no matter their background or identity – to feel welcome and to feel the relief/joy of finding a book on the shelves that reflects their personal experiences.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

helping others by making information and resources more accessible, as a way to empower those in need.
