PROFILE

Current residence: Vista, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

My Master's degree and my Teacher Librarian Credential will provide me with greater opportunities in the information science profession.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My greatest supporters while earning both my Teacher Librarian Credential and my MLIS degree are, my Mom and Dad, Mark, Kelli, my family, Thora, Marge, Karen, Chris, Diana, Rebecca and Nichole just to name a few. I couldn't have done it without their support. Well, maybe I could have but it would have been rougher and not as much fun!

While in the program, I met classmates from:

I met classmates from all around the United States and the world including Japan, Panama and Europe. My closest ties are in North Dakota and San Francisco.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I love the flexibility of this program. Fitting recorded lectures and homework assignments into my time schedule was perfect since I work full time. Constant communication and support was always available from the professors. They were all amazing!

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

I've connected with so many wonderful people in this program and made some great friends. We were all experiencing the same frustrations and successes which made it easy to share and relate. Connecting with other information professionals and hearing about their experiences, their jobs and where they live gave me a bigger picture of the information science profession.

I plan to use my degree to:

My Teacher Librarian Credential and my MLIS degree will create greater opportunities.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

I'm most looking forward to not planning my life around homework and projects.
