PROFILE

Current residence: Petaluma, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I love furthering my education and I appreciated this opportunity to learn about a subject I've always been interested in: libraries and information management. I appreciated the training and information I received in this program and I'm excited to have a master's degree in a field that inspires me.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My parents gave me a lot of support to start and complete this program. I'm also thankful for the support and comments I received from instructors during my program.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The ability to learn from instructors from all over the country and from various universities. I enjoyed being able to work on assignments with flexibility while also being able to meet with classmates virtually.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

My favorite classes had to do with classification and the history of books, libraries and printed works. I also enjoyed the opportunities to work with librarians and archivists and hear about their experiences.

I plan to use my degree to:

I would love to work in an archive or with special collections of some sort. Reference work for public libraries is also interesting to me. I hope to be able to try several different types of library work throughout my career.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Devoting my time to job searches and exploring different libraries and opportunities around the country. I'm really excited to get involved in the evolving world of library and information work.
