I love to help people, and realized that I can help low income communities (like the one I grew up in) succeed in our society by being a public librarian.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My family, coworkers, and friends. I couldn't have done this without my friends, and especially my Mom.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All over the country! It was so interesting to see their photos and learn a little bit about their lives and experiences. I even learned that some of my classmates work for the same library system as I do!
What I liked best about online learning was:
That I could work at my own pace and create my own schedule (except for mandatory collaborate meetings, of course!). I also enjoyed learning and using new platforms that I probably would've never learned about on my own.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
Learning from such passionate, knowledgeable, and understanding professors! I often felt inspired after listening to a lecture, watching a presentation, or even after a collaborate meeting. All these experiences and classes reaffirmed that libraries are important now more than ever!
I plan to use my degree to:
Be a children's librarian and help my community (or similar to mine) by giving them access to information needed in order to succeed in our society.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Working as a children's librarian, and finally do some leisure reading!
