PROFILE
Current residence: Englewood, NJ, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I wanted to best serve the community in which I work as a professional Youth Services Librarian. Working in public libraries is my dream job. It matches my values, providing free access to free services to people from all walks of life. I am able to help diverse groups of people while working in an environment that is conducive to lifelong learning.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
my parents, my coworkers from various Bergen County libraries, and my friends.
What I liked best about online learning was:
it enabled me to work concurrently, balancing two part-time jobs and later one full-time job.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
The courses were extremely relevant to my day-to-day work experiences. I was able to use coursework to affect practical changes in the libraries in which I worked. I was able to learn more about the patrons of my diverse community, and how to best meet their needs.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
continuing to grow and keep up with the latest research in Youth Services.
