The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2019

PROFILE

Current residence: Albuquerque, NM, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

The flexibility of the degree was appealing. I can work in any number of information environments. I also knew I wanted to work in libraries and archives in positions that require an MLIS.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My family, colleagues, friends, supervising librarians and archivists from internship sites, and exceptional professors from the iSchool.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the world as well as my hometown, which was one of the best parts of the program.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility. I was able to find a library job, complete internships, and gain valuable experience while completing my coursework.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Working with insightful, motivated classmates, serving on the ASIS&T executive committee, and as a Content Editor for the Student Research Journal.

I plan to use my degree to:

Work in an academic or special library as an archivist or instruction librarian.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Whatever comes next!
