I wanted to pursue a career within a field that I am passionate about and that would allow me to serve others.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My loving and patient wife, Nannette, and our fabulous son, Nathan, along with my very encouraging parents, Lloyd and Linda Young.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All over the world! New colleagues and friends with whom I shared memorable experiences are located in California, Washington, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arizona, and Oregon.
What I liked best about online learning was:
The ability to spend more time with my family and maintain my non-academic life than had I been committed to classroom schedules.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
Learning from my instructors and peers. I would rate every instructor that I took courses from as excellent and I learned nearly as much from my fellow students. The breadth of exposure to new ideas and differing world views has greatly broadened my own field of thought.
I plan to use my degree to:
My foremost desire is to help first-year college students make a successful transition from secondary school to the world of higher education. To accomplish this, I am continuing the focus on information literacy that I adopted during my MLIS studies.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Using the knowledge and skills that I have gained to serve my community.
