I wanted to gain more information about my field and theoretically gain practical archival skills that could be easily transferred to my field.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
my family. They supported all of my crazy ideas about projects and let me vent when needed.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
all over the United States. I even met some from my own city or surrounding cities.
What I liked best about online learning was:
the flexibility! I didn't have to worry about delegating time for travel, parking, or attending the class. I could just go on my computer in the comfort of my own home or public library. I also enjoyed working at my own pace! Some classes were harder than others, so I would usually finish those readings first, then work on the other classes that didn't require much time.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
the professors and the electives! Each professor gave wonderful feedback and helped me whenever I had questions about an assignment. Each professor put in time and effort into making their class unique and fun. And I thoroughly appreciated that! The electives in the Archival Studies and Records Management pathway were well planned and implemented. Each elective gave me the chance to theoretically apply the skills of an Archivist, and some even gave me the chance to practically apply the skills in assignments or major projects.
I plan to use my degree to:
become a Special Collections Librarian or an Archivist.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
applying all the knowledge, skills, and abilities I've learned to my future career.
