PROFILE

Current residence: Glendora, NJ, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to earn a masters degree in library and information science, because I knew it would increase my knowledge and skill set in the information profession. As a history major in my undergrad, I valued the skills I gained in research. By completing this degree, I wanted to improve upon my ability to find information, as well as teach others how to find it.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My wife, my parents, my mother and father in-law, my friends, and my colleagues.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the world.

What I liked best about online learning was:

Learning online was important for me, especially on my path to becoming an information professional. It improved my ability to manage time, develop online communication skills, and utilize tools that will be useful in a career that is heavily influenced by emerging technology.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

What I enjoyed most about my experience in this program was the multitude of courses I was able to take throughout the program. For me, my goal was to become as well-rounded as possible. The catalog of courses at SJSU allowed me to achieve my goal.

I plan to use my degree to:

I plan to use my degree to be the best darn librarian I can be!

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

I am most looking forward to putting my skills into practice in my current role as a cataloger and public services librarian, as well as expand upon the research I completed throughout the program. I want to be a valid contributor to the profession through exploring past and current trends, and posing new ideas.
