The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2020

PROFILE

Current residence: Warman, Canada

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

of my desire to learn more about the LIS profession, and I viewed this achievement as a positive move for career progression.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my family and friends, and also Cameco Corporation (my employer) for financial support.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

the United States, Canada, and Japan. Some students had worked in the library and information science field for many years, while others were new to the field! Every student I met online had a unique story and perspectives that helped my learning.

What I liked best about online learning was:

the freedom and flexibility it offered, and self-discipline that was required.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

the encouragement and feedback I received from the instructors and advisors, who were knowledgeable and very professional.

I plan to use my degree to:

improve my performance in the workplace using the knowledge and skills I have obtained, and seek new opportunities that will allow me to grow, and contribute to the LIS profession.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

spending some quality time with family and friends, who have been so understanding these last several years that I have been immersed in the program!
