It’s funny the way life works full circle. One day, an ambitious MLIS student walks into my office to inquire about volunteering for me in the library, where I am seen in an inspirational light. The next, that said MLIS student commences her studies, and leaves me in awe! Carla, you are such an inspiration in so many ways! Any library you end up employed at will be immensely fortunate to have such a compelling librarian be part of their team. You are living proof that you can accomplish anything if you want it bad enough. When there’s a will, there’s a way. Congratulations and Godspeed, my dear!
Dr. Villagran:

PROFILE
Current residence: Las Vegas, NV, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I was destined to be a librarian! Seriously, what kid constructs a makeshift library on their closet shelf and "loans" books to friends?
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
my eminently gracious husband, children, family, friends, and professors. Your unique touch has profoundly enriched my life! I am ultimately thankful to the LORD for bestowing perseverance, character, and hope upon me for every challenge.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
locally, across the country, and around the world!
What I liked best about online learning was:
the ability to learn anytime and anywhere around my other responsibilities!
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
working with the many technological tools for creation, presentation, and collaboration. Making a book trailer is my next challenge!
I plan to use my degree to:
pursue a professional librarian position providing legal information and to facilitate pathways toward equitable justice.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
finally reading fiction, watching movies, enjoying the great outdoors, keeping up acquaintances, and, if I'm being honest, cleaning my house!
