PROFILE
Current residence: Fullerton, CA, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I wanted to combine my love for reading and my passionate desire to ensure that all children have the right to read.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
Thank you to my Mom and Dad for supporting me and for all my wonderful family, friends and co-workers who believed I could do it and cheered me on. I'm also so thankful for my children Taylor, Ben and J.R. who were understanding of my late night research. I couldn't have done it without all the love and support.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
Russia, Canada...and all around the United States. It was an amazing privilege to get to know so many quality friends through Zoom meetings and Google Docs.
What I liked best about online learning was:
The flexibility to pursue my education at the end of the day after work was over and the children were asleep!
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
The instructors who used creative projects, assignments and challenging papers to push me beyond my limitations and show me that I was able to do far more than I thought was possible.
I plan to use my degree to:
Pursue full time work as a Children's Librarian. I am so excited to advocate for children and their right to read books that are windows to the world around them and mirrors to reflect their culture and traditions.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Traveling with my children and enjoying the summer without thinking about the next research project. I am so excited to begin pursuing full-time librarian work and look forward to where my library journey leads me.
