The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2020

PROFILE

Current residence: Salt Lake City, UT, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I knew this was a necessary step towards my goals as an academic librarian.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My partner, David Ohlson. My brother, Ramsey. And my parents-- who always told me to put education first. As well as everyone at the Eccles Health Sciences Library at the University of Utah. Extra shout-out to Kristin Spencer in Denver, without whom I don't know if I would have made it!

While in the program, I met classmates from:

From nearly every timezone in the US.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The ability for me to continue working full-time at my job.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Was being able to apply my coursework and projects towards my work-- many projects prompted actually positive change within my library.

I plan to use my degree to:

Continue my outreach work working within colleges and universities as a academic (possibly medical) librarian.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Seeing where my next move will take me-- both physically to another city, and professionally!
