PROFILE
Current residence: Long Beach, CA, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I have a passion for taking care of rare items and organizing them so they can be shared with others. I love helping people find information and I love the opportunity to be an integral part of the preservation and access to information.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My mom deserves an honorary degree for proofreading all of my assignments! My family and friends were endlessly supportive and understanding. When I couldn't go out because I had homework, or I needed to vent about an assignment, they supported me. I will always be grateful for their patience and understanding.
What I liked best about online learning was:
The flexibility!
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
The opportunity to fit in classes while I worked full time. I took some interesting classes from wonderful professors. I am grateful to benefit from their knowledge and experiences.
I plan to use my degree to:
Continue and grow in my role at the CSULB Library Special Collections and University Archives department. I hope to move to an assistant archivist position and gain more experience with cataloging rare materials and preservation and conservation practices.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Free time! I am learning how to knit, reading more, binge-watching shows I've missed, and spending more time with family and friends. I love it!
